Deacon Christy
Deacon Christy (she/her) was ordained in August 2024 by Bishop Kae Madden at Church of the Beloved. She first attended COB in September 2017 and became a formal member in May 2018. She completed her presbyteral certificate at the Bishop Kemper School for Ministry in 2025 and is preparing for ordination to the priesthood. She especially enjoyed learning about liberation theology, queer theology, and creation care, along with the opportunity to explore spirituality and a variety of spiritual practices. Christy earned a Master's degree in Anthropology in 2012 and worked as an archaeologist in the Rocky Mountains, assisting with fieldwork and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping of archaeological sites. Her master's thesis used GIS to analyze the interconnection of prehistoric sacred sites with each other and with surrounding natural features. She currently works as a Cataloging Associate for a library district, cataloging materials in both English and Spanish to serve the community's needs. To contact Christy, email: deacon
